Hi, everyone! I hope you all are having the best possible December! While the holidays can be a time of good cheer, it's no secret that they can also be a big source of stress for many people - for a variety of reasons.
For some individuals who are working on developing a healthier relationship with food and their body, the holidays can generate a lot of anxiety. We are after all surrounded by diet culture. In an attempt to replace some of the diety messages that come up throughout the holiday season - and really throughout the year - with some non-diet wisdom, today I'm sharing my favorite non-diet podcasts with you!
These non-diet podcasts are a great way to learn more about Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size (HAES). They're also terrific for reinforcing some of the hard work that you may be dedicating to Intuitive Eating and the HAES approach.
My favorite time to listen to these is when I'm cooking - because that's a way for me to relax and continue to enhance my knowledge as a non-diet dietitian and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. But that's me. Maybe some of you enjoy listening to podcasts when you're traveling or running errands?! Pick a time and place that suits you best!
The following anti-diet podcasts are generated by some incredible Registered Dietitians who I really admire:
Christy Harrison, MPH, RD, CDN, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and journalist answers a listener's question at the beginning of each podcast, in addition to exploring her guests' relationship with food - followed by talking about topics revolving around Intuitive Eating, HAES, eating disorders, and body liberation. This was the first anti-diet podcast that I began listening to. I was instantly hooked by Christy's fierce passion for being a strong advocate for all bodies!
